Katherine "Kitty" Rivers Williams

March 2, 1926 — January 27, 2013

Katherine "Kitty" Rivers Williams, 86, of Charleston, SC, widow of Cecil Baker Williams, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 27, 2013. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013, in Harbor Light Baptist Church, 1300 Fort Johnson Road, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Kitty was born March 2, 1926 in Dorchester, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Shirley Rivers and the late Ardell Jones Rivers. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Memminger High School, a founding member of Clearview Baptist Church and Harbor Light Baptist Church. Kitty was one of the founders of Williams Nursery, now Brownswood Nursery.

She is survived by her two daughters, Terre W. Stevens (Wyatt) and Pamela R. Kirby (Jimmy), both of Johns Island; seven grandchildren, Danny Stewart, Ryan Watkins, Michael Rooke, Drew Stevens, Amy Duttera, Alex Kirby and Lauren Kirby; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Cecile Williams Stewart.

Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Baptist Church, 1300 Ft. Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
