Katherine Umrysh, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Peter Umrysh, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Her graveside service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 10:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
Katherine was born December 22, 1920 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Robert Lee Elsey and Ella Bivens Elsey. She retired from Sears and was a member of Charleston Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Preston Umrysh of Greer, SC; four grandchildren, Ashley Calhoun, Ryan Calhoun, Alex Umrysh, Meg Roberts and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Calhoun.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Charleston Baptist Church, 13 San Miguel Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
