Katherine Gleason

Katherine Marie Gleason, 70, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Christopher F. Gleason, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 1, 2024. A catholic mass to honor Katherine’s life will be held 12:00-1:00pm on Friday, September 27, 2024at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 State Route 108, Clarkville, MD 21029. Katherine was born on October 4, 1953 in Jackson Heights, New York, the daughter of the late Salvatore Vitale and the late Catherine Newschaffer Vitale. 

Katherine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She filled our lives with love, warmth, and laughter. As a devoted wife to Christopher F. Gleason, she exemplified unconditional love and partnership. As a mother, she nurtured her children, Christopher and Shauna with unwavering kindness and encouragement, instilling in them the values of compassion and resilience. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Katherine’s bond with her family was unbreakable. She found great joy in bringing everyone together for family gatherings, where laughter and warmth filled the room. She was known for her kindness, tenacity, delicious meals, and her ability to make everyone feel special and loved.

Katherine leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She will deeply be missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

Katherine is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Chris Gleason of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, Christopher Gleason (Christina) of Sykesville, MD; daughter, Shauna Windsor (Jason) of Mount Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren, Maria Gleason, Christopher Gleason, Brody Windsor, Ashlyn Windsor; and sister, Marie Vitale of Lindenhurst, NY.
