Katherine Coleman Donaldson Butler

Katherine Coleman Donaldson Butler, 81, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Dr. John McKager Butler, died Friday, June 16, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held graveside in the Christ Church Cemetery, 2304 Hwy 17 N, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd.

Katherine was born October 22, 1935 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Robert James and Catherine Lucas Coleman Donaldson. She was an active member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and member of the choir. Katherine could always be found in her flower garden, which was her pride and joy.

She is survived by her son, Jonathan Howard Butler (wife, Sami); her daughter, Elizabeth Legare B. Duren (husband, Rob); grandchildren: John, Robert and Michael Butler; Daphne and Aidan Brion, and Sophia and Troy Duren; her brother, Robert James Donaldson, Jr.; three sisters, Mary Ann D. Hay, Betty D. Williams, and Sandy D. Knisley, all of Mount Pleasant; and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Butler Graves.
