Katherine Ann Breen Burrell, 85, of Mount Pleasant, SC, wife of Roger Alan Burrell died Tuesday, November 19, 2013. The Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Somerby of Mount Pleasant at 10:00 am . Inurnment in St. Benedict's Columbarium will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Katy was born on July 15, 1928 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles McCausland Breen and the late Mary Agnes Doran Breen. She graduated from Akron University where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and President of her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. She worked as a Paralegal for 10 years. Katy was an incredible wife and mother, a great swimmer and wonderful hostess.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alan Burrell of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six children, Roger Burrell and his wife, Carol, Michael Burrell and his wife, Barbara, Doran Burrell, Nina Burrell and her husband, Karl Ulrich, James Burrell and his wife, Lisa, and Kathleen Chambers and her husband, Ron; sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; one brother Bill Breen and his wife Pearl. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Breen.
