Her Graveside Funeral Service will be held Monday March 22, 2021 in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel on Sunday March 21, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. June was born June 8, 1931 in Lithonia, Georgia, daughter of the late Clarence Dewitt Jones and Mary Frances Jones. Her family moved from Lithonia to Charleston in 1941. June married David W. Baxley Jr. and helped him to establish his medical practice and worked keeping his financial records.June was a devout Christian and loving mother, wife and grandmother. She was heavily involved in the community life of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, serving as Circle President and WELCA President. June was in the Altar Guild, which gave her great joy. Her love of flowers and floral arrangements grew with her involvement in The Northbridge Terrace Garden Club and The Charleston Garden Club. She was president of The Charleston Medical Auxiliary, a member of the Ladies Benevolent Society and the Charleston Symphony Guild.She is survived by her two sons: Kenneth W. Baxley (Beverly) of Charleston, SC and David D. Baxley of Charleston, SC; her two daughters: Sharon B. Butehorn (Fred) of Summerville, SC and Susan B. Taube of Ozark, Missouri; five grandchildren: David Gavalas, Rebekah Luhrs, Zachary Taube, Samuel Taube and Sadie Baxley and one great-grandchild, Susannah Kate Luhrs.June was predeceased be her beloved husband, her daughter Rachel Margaret Baxley, her brother Charles Jones and beloved sister, Arlene Infinger.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 405 King St., Charleston, SC 29403.A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
