Julia Ivey, 90, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Keith Ivey entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 4990 Dorchester Road at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the Church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Julia was born May 30, 1927 in Brewton, Alabama, daughter of the late Claudia D. Capshaw and Mary Sennie Thompson Capshaw. She was a retired property owner/manager. Julia was the former President of Wando Woods Civic Club. She volunteered for years for Hotline and was a member of the Square Dance Club. Julia was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and a former Sunday School Teacher.
She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa I. Boggs of North Charleston, SC, Regina Ivey of Charleston, SC; son, Denis Keith Ivey (Janet) of Charleston, SC; four sisters, Lucille Capshaw, JoAnn C. Spencer, Patsy C. Skipper (Skip), Cynthia C. Post, and two brothers, Jim Capshaw, Sr. (Kitty), Herschel Capshaw (Vonzene) all of Alabama; five grandchildren, Dale Michael Boggs II, Lisa Boggs Spencer, Kyshia Denise James, Kevin Shane Wilson, Kelley Cox, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous extended family. She was predeceased by a grandson Joshua Glass Ivey and a sister Claudine Starrett.
