Julia Johnson Britton, 102, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Woodrow Wilson Britton went to be with her Lord Friday, February 16, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, 2014 Bees Ferry Road at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Sunday in the Church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Groomsville Baptist Churchyard, Mount Holly, SC. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Julia was born June 29, 1915 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of William Thomas Johnson and Mary Sims Johnson. Julia was a member of Grace on the Ashley, formally Rutledge Memorial where she sang in the Rutledge Rejoicers Senior Adult Choir and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. Her baking and cooking skills brought joy to her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen B. Braswell (Ed) of Charleston, SC, daughter, Alma B. Lever (Mike) of Charleston, SC, four grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Johnson of Fort Mill, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. Julia was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.
