Judy Clark Jordan, 83, passed away peacefully at Bon Secours St Francis Hospital in Charleston on July 17, 2026.
A native of Greenville, SC, Judy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Furman University before attending William & Mary, where she received her master’s degree in education, and met her husband, Wayne. Judy spent close to 40 years bringing classrooms around the Lowcountry to life with her infectiously positive spirit. Her legendary quadratic formula song is still rumored to be echoing down the halls of the former Middleton High School.
To her students, her friends, and her family, Judy was the light in every room she entered. She was our party planner, our candle on the water, our raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, our reminder that life is indeed worth living. The magic in her soul, though not easily replaced, lives on in the memories of all of those she touched, especially her three grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Frances Clark. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wayne Jordan; her children, Matt and Daniel Jordan (Sally); her grandchildren, Benjamin, Brielle, and Isaiah Jordan; and her sister, Raye Mathis (Joe) and their son, Clark.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, July 24th in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 25th, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Burial services immediately follow the memorial service and will take place at Live Oak Memorial Gardens located at 3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414.
To honor a lifetime spent nurturing future generations, donations may be made in Judy’s name to the Ronald McDonald House, 81 Gadsden Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
