Judith Ann Emmerson Hough, 76, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Walter James Hough entered into eternal rest Friday, September 30, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Judith was born December 4, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of the late Leslie Emmerson and Harriett Brookmyer Emmerson. Judy loved her church, the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. She also loved her flower gardens at home and at the church. She volunteered at the church, Animal Helpers Retail and was involved with the Historic Charleston Foundation as a docent during the spring garden open house. Many happy vacations were experienced in the USA, Europe, and the Holy Land (Israel).
She is survived by her husband, Jim Hough, three daughters, Diane Bell (Rich), Karen Zavodny (Doug), Patti Rice (Mike), two step-daughters, Kathy Malone (Mike), Susan Harris (Brent), step-son, Paul Hough (Andrea), fourteen grandchildren Matthew, Blake, Michael, Kirsten, Dean, Monica, Marissa, Patrick, Sam, Elaina, Gretchen, Alec, Evan, Eleanor, three great-grandsons Gage, Cole, Braxtin and Judy's brother Joseph Emmerson.
