Judy Belle Hines, 78, of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
 
Judy was born September 10, 1944 in Ballard, West Virginia, daughter of the late Clyde Spangler and Rowena Bower Spangler. She resided in Northern Virginia from 1960 to 2017 before relocating to South Carolina.  Judy had a long and successful career with the United States Postal Service, from which she retired in 1992.
 
Judy was a caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and took pleasure from cooking for family, neighbors and friends.  Judy touched many lives with her hospitable nature and welcoming home. She will be fondly remembered for her kind soul and generous heart.


Judy is survived by her children, Edward Williams of Lewes, DE, Cynthia Rivera (Tom) of Charleston, SC, Steven Hines (Leighann) of Powhatan, VA, and Michael Hines (Rachen Pinpradab) of Ayutthaya, Thailand; grandchildren, Jimmy Hines, Powhatan, VA, and Katie Ritz (David) of Powhatan, VA; great grandchildren, Afton Ritz, and Kennedy Ritz.  She is also survived by siblings, Jean Ramsey, New Port Richey, FL, Janice Robertson (Jim), of Ballard, WV, and June Campbell (Robbie) of Ballard, WV; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Hines, Manassas, VA.; brothers, Errell "Buddy" Spangler of Fredericksburg, VA., and John "Pete" Spangler of St. Cloud, FL.   
 
Her family will receive friends Friday, August 25, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Inurnment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery at a date that is yet to be determined. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
