Judy Marie Pye Godbee

Judy Marie Pye Godbee, wife of Dwight Ivan Godbee of Hanahan, SC, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011.  The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Dwight Ivan Godbee are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1106 Fort Drive, Hanahan, SC on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.  Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Charleston, SC.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.

Judy was born July 26, 1947, in Charleston, SC, daughter of Ellen Frances Pye and the late George Leon Pye.  A bookkeeper for Laing Middle School, she was a faithful member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister.  She was also a member of the Women's Club at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.

Judy is survived by her husband, Ivan of Hanahan, SC; her sons, David Godbee and his wife, Shannon Cool Godbee of Bonneau, SC, Tommy Godbee and his wife, Rebecca Devine of Surfside Beach, SC; her daughter, Susan Pritchard and her husband, William C. Pritchard of Hollywood, SC; her grandchildren, Meghan Pritchard, Tyler Godbee, Lauren Godbee, Kaleb Godbee, and Teagan Godbee; her mother, Ellen Frances Pye of Hanahan, SC; her sisters Frances Brewer of Goose Creek, SC and Helen Pye Lovett of Charlotte, NC; her brothers, George Pye of Charleston Heights, SC, Jimmy Pye of Wadmalaw Island, SC; and Michael Pye of Summerville, SC.  She was preceded in death by her father, George Leon Pye, her brother, Johnny Pye, and her sister, Mary Rucker.
