Juanita O. McDonald, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Lavern D. McDonald, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 5, 2025. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in the Northwoods Chapel at 11:00 am, and burial will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
Juanita was born October 29, 1937, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Henry George Sharp and Ella Mae O'Brien Sharp. She loved dancing, singing, people watching, and shopping.
She is survived by her children, Tina Murray (George) of Charleston, SC, Angela Juaristic (George) of Ocala, FL, Arlene Hudgens (Mike) of Elloree, SC, and Thomas Altman of Manning, SC; grandchildren, Rachel Carr (Patrick), Tiffany Wright (Jason), Jessica Isaac (Rodgers), Madelyn Murray, Megan Murray, Eva Grubbs (Richard), George Juaristic (Irene), Karrissa Shannahan (Cole), Timothy Simmons, Maria Pompanio (Simmie), Eric Huff, Katrina Castellano, and Chris Hudgens (Katie); 24 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Juanita was preceded by 6 siblings, Warren Herbert Sharp, Julia Irma Murray, Robert Emmett Sharp, Albert Brown Sharp, Gloria Elizabeth Masche, and Ernest Dewey "Buddy" Sharp.
Memorials donations can be made in Juanita's memory to Lowcountry Community Hospice House-Agape Care in Summerville.
