Bertha Juanita Henderson Maddox, 83, of North Charleston, SC, was born on June 14, 1928 in Manning, SC to the late Louis James and Bertha Locklair Freeman. She entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 25, 2012. She is survived by 2 sons, Leonard Benton and Charles Henderson; 6 daughters, Marie Richardson, Susan Stewart (Randell), Nita Cumbee, Shanna Richardson (Edward), Charlene Alderman (Matt), and Lisa Jackson (Dan); a son-in-law, Tommy Legare, an uncle, Charlie Freeman, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and extended family Donna Stiles (Ken). She is preceded in death by 2 daughters, Rosa Lee Legare and Sandra Richardson.

The relatives and friends of Juanita Henderson Maddox are invited to attend her funeral services Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston. Interment to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
