Juanita Ruth Jeffers, 91, of John's Island, South Carolina, widow of Roddey Woodrow Jeffers died Saturday, October 27, 2018 peacefully with her family by her side. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in the West Ashley Chapel, at 2:00 pm. Interment following, will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. West Ashley CHAPEL from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Juanita was born May 17, 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Lawrence Washington Perry and Ruth Marie Blocker. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of St. Andrew's Parish and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a wonderful homemaker, Mama, Granny, and GeeGee. She spent her whole life primarily devoted to God and family, keeping everyone warm and cozy with her handmade quilts and nourishing all with the best Southern cooking around.
She is survived by two sons, Mark S. Bailey (Katherine) of John's Island, SC, Paul Woodrow Jeffers (Laura) of James Island, SC; sister, Mabel Agnes Freeman of Lincolnville, SC; Frances Lydia Hillman of Orangeburg, SC; six Grandchildren, Matthew, Kristin, Caroline, Kaitlyn, William, Hayley; five Great-Grandchildren, Julia, Makayla, Tonya, Liam, Willa. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Marie Bath, and her brother Lawrence Washington Perry, Jr.
