Juanita Nix Gunter, 60, of Ladson, South Carolina, widow of Lyston Dupree Gunter, died Monday, June 5, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial following will be in Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00 pm.

Juanita was born December 5, 1956 in Bethesda, Maryland, daughter of the late Emory Nix and the late Addie Louise Rudd Nix. Juanita worked at MUSC in the billing department. She was a member of Jedburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Brianna Barker (Christopher) of Ladson, SC; son, Jason Gunter of Colts Neck, NJ; brother, Emory W. Nix of Ravenel, SC; granddaughter, Ariel Barker; sister, Lorraine Willman of Goose Creek, SC. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kennedy Paige Gunter.
