Joyce Amelia Davis Fields , 79, of James Island, South Carolina, widow of Horace Walker Fields, and James Ira Dangerfield, entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 1, 2017. Her Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Joyce was born August 12, 1938 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Harry Wagner Davis and Ella Hughes Davis. She was a graduate of Charleston High School and a retired Professional Staff Office Administrator at MUSC. She also handled property management for her family.
She is survived by her two Children, Lynn Laquara (Michael), and James Dangerfield (Janet) of Summerville, SC, three step-children, Brenda Fields of Summerville, SC, Tamara McGougan of James Island, SC, Sharon Crusenberry of James Island, SC; three sisters, Barbara Merrill of Summerville, SC, Deloris Canfield of Swansea, SC, Phyllis Pennell of James Island, SC; fifteen grandchildren, Holly Wooldridge, Ashley Wooldridge, Katlyn Dangerfield, Grace Dangerfield, Eric Moore, Rainey Just, Robbie Just, Lisa Wilson, Sheri Shields, Suzie Jones, Sarah Scott, Bruce Alsbrook (BJ) McGougan,III, Amanda McGougan, Robert Crusenberry, and Melissa Walker, and eleven great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Catherine Krantz.
