Joy Zelda Epstein Siegel, born June 8, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, died April 8, 2013 in Charleston, South Carolina at age 84. Her Graveside Services will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 in Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri at 10:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Joy was the daughter of Leon and Gertrude Smith Epstein. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Siegel. She is survived by two daughters: Judith Dandridge (Larry) of Charleston, SC and Karen Roodman (Dennis) of St. Louis, MO; her brother, Earl Epstein of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren: David Cohn (Amy) of Atlanta, GA, Lisa LaCrois (Jacob) of Charleston, SC, Jill Sachs (Jeff) of St. Louis, MO, and Lindsey Prater (Orin) of Savannah, GA; five great-grandchildren and two nieces.
The family gives special thanks for the loving compassionate care provided by Quiwanna Mungim, Radica Anmol, Janet Komate and many other caregivers of Be Well Home Services, Ashley River Plantation and NHC of Charleston.
Joy and her husband, Al, worked together for many years in the shoe business in St. Louis. She was a true caregiver to her late husband during his final years battling Parkinson's disease and she delighted in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
