Joy Saunders Broach

Joy Saunders Broach, 51, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Joy was married to Tommy Allen Broach, Jr. until his passing in 2019. 

Joy was born on September 12, 1972 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Wallace “Rodney” Saunders, Sr. and Margaret Florence Saunders. She was a graduate of St Andrews High School in Charleston, SC. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and a cherished daughter, sister, and aunt.

 Joy is survived by her, son, Tommy Allen Broach, III, step-daughter Kaitlyn Broach; four siblings, Susan “Sunny” Jewell (Steve), Darla Iseman (Donald), Rhonda Millard, Wallace “Rod” R. Saunders Jr. (Star); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Joy’s funeral service for family and friends will be held at Wilson Cemetery, Awendaw, SC on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SC Association of the Deaf, 437 Center St, West Columbia, SC 29169.
