Josie Worsham Smoak, 86, of Wando, South Carolina, wife of the late Thomas Clark Smoak died Friday, July 17, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Wando Baptist Church, 1081 Reflectance Drive, Wando, SC at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 19, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Josie was born May 15, 1929 in Wando, South Carolina, daughter of the late Richard Joseph Worsham and the late Daisy Legare Worsham. She worked for the United States Post Office and retired as the Postmaster of Wando, SC. She was a charter member and pianist at Wando Baptist Church. Her life was one of dedication to her Lord and her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol Ward and her husband, Junior, of Wando, SC, Cathy Mason and her husband, Pudgie, of Moncks Corner, SC, Joan Jones and her husband, Sheldon, of Moncks Corner, SC and Dianne Scott and her husband, Scotty, of Summerville, SC; one son, Thomas Clark Smoak, Jr. and his wife, Candy, of McClellanville, SC; her sister, Letha Freeman of Mount Pleasant, SC; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 65 years and two great grandsons.
