Josephine Mary Wakefield

Josephine Mary Wakefield, 69, of Ladson, SC, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 3 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Josephine was born June 12, 1943 in Surrey, England, daughter of the late Melvin Edward Smith and the late Henrietta Theresa Foye Smith. She was a Manager in Kirkland stores for 32 years. Josephine enjoyed painting, pottery, crafts, cooking and trips to the North Carolina mountains. She especially enjoyed time spent with her granddaughter Kristie. She lived in Charleston for 39 years.

She is survived by her son, Robert Wakefield and his wife Leigh Ann of Summerville, SC; son, Larry Wakefield and his wife Melody of Summerville, SC; sisters: Barbara Bushaw of Ladson, SC, Bette Jo Miljour and her husband Pat of MI, Cindy Harmon of SC, Lisa Johnson and her husband Ray of MI, Kathleen Tertzag of MI; brothers: Robert Smith and his wife Sandy of TN, Lowell Smith of VA, Melvin Smith and his wife Anne of NC, Michael Smith and his wife Alicia of MI and Kevin Smith of MI; granddaughters, Kristie Wakefield and Holly Thompson; grandson, Andrew Thompson; many nieces and nephews and her dog Nicky.
