Entered into eternal rest on March 16, 2012, Joseph Sweat, husband of Debora Diana Mason Sweat, of Goose Creek, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. Joseph Sweat are invited to attend his funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel between 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m.

Joe was born November 19, 1934, in Norfolk, VA, the son of the late Norwood Sweat and the late Ann (Nathalie) Davison Sweat. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife of Goose Creek; two sons, Joey Sweat and Kyle Sweat; two daughters, Penny Mizell (John) and Chelsea Sweat (Joimar Nelson, fiancé); two brothers, Marvin Sweat (Teresa) and Laverne Sweat (Pat); three grandchildren, Dustin Franklin, Jonathan Mizell and Jeremiah Nelson; and a great-grand daughter, Jayden Rae Franklin. Joe is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Sweat; brothers, Alvin Sweat and Ernest Sweat; and sisters, Bobbie England, Margaret Kregor and Millie Sweat.
