Joseph Earl Skipper, 76, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Barbara Snowden Skipper, died peacefully at his home Thursday, July 28, 2016.

His family will host a Gathering of Friends Friday, August 5, 2016, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with words of committal at 5:00 p.m.

Earl was born March 18, 1940 in Conway, South Carolina. He was a mechanical engineer for SSA until his retirement in 2001.

In addition to his wife, Barbara; he is survived by his two sons, Dennis G. Skipper (Jenny) and Rodney S. Skipper; four grandchildren: Travis (deceased), Jordan Diana, Isaiah, and Shelby; and one brother, Bryson "Bud" Skipper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
