Joseph James Schepis, Jr., 56, of North Charleston, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 1, 2013. His funeral service will be private. Arrangements by in J.HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Joseph was born February 28, 1957 in Orlando, Florida, the son of Joseph James Schepis and Mary Dasaro Schepis. He was a veteran of the US Army and the US Navy. Joe was a recipient of the Freedom Medal and a Purple Heart. He retired as a Shipfitter from Detyens Shipyard.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph James Schepis Sr. and Mary Dasaro Schepis of Sumter, SC; three daughters, Ginger Schepis and Savanna Schepis, both of Birmingham, NC; Aurora Schepis of Salisbury, MD; longtime companion, Jan Bennett of North Charleston, SC; two step-sons, Robert "Bobby" G. Bennett and Charles Snyder, both of North Charleston, SC; a step-daughter, Stephanie Snyder of North Charleston, SC; and a dear friend, Richard Dean.
