Joseph A. Richard, Jr., 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Norma Rainey Richard entered into eternal rest Monday, July 13, 2015. His Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Bush River Memorial Gardens (5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC) at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.

Joseph was born December 23, 1921 in Walhalla, South Carolina, a son of the late Joseph A. Richard and Willie Bailey Davis Richard. He was a Senior Chief Petty Officer for the United States Navy, proudly serving in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres of War in World War II and aboard the USS Goldsboro Commission.

He was also the Instruction Engineering Officer for the Charleston Navy Yard and a member of the James Island Masonic Lodge #396 A.F.M.

He is survived by his grandson, John Thomas Dunlap of Charleston, SC; his special friend, Alison Muckenfuss and her son, Micah; and his caregiver, Ana Pascuel.
