Entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2011, Joseph Charles Rankin, husband of Mildred Wilkinson Rankin of Olive Branch, MS, formerly of Hanahan, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph C. Rankin are invited to attend his funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Friday, February 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.  Interment with military honors to follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens.  Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Thursday, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Rankin was born on January 26, 1928 in Berkeley Springs, WV the son of Russell R. Rankin and Clara Elsie Bishop Rankin.  He was a US Navy veteran and a Presbyterian by faith.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Rankin of Olive Branch, MS; son, Bruce Rankin and his wife Cheryl of Goose Creek, SC; two daughters, Mildred Virginia Brock and her husband Buddy of Olive Branch, MS and Pat Freeman of Summerville, SC; two brothers, John Rankin of Berkeley Springs, WV and Fred Rankin of Gainsville, VA; one sister, Tempy Lansing of Berkeley Springs, WVA; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Plunkett.
