Joseph Edward Poirier, 91, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, husband of Marilyn Flynn Poirier entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 13, 2017. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held later in St. Joaquin Catholic Church with Prayers of Final Accommodation and Farwell to be scheduled in Beachbrook Cemetery, Rockport, MA. Arrangements by J. Joseph was born November 7, 1926 in Rockport, Massachusetts, son of the late Jean Baptiste Poirier and Anne Sheehan Poirier. He received his Electrical Engineering degree from Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute. He was the retired Vice President of Anderson-Nichols, Inc. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WWII and Korea. He was a member of the American Legion Post #98 in Rockport, MA, an avid golfer and enjoyed painting.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn, of Surfside Beach, SC; daughter, Kimberly "Kim" Poirier of North Charleston, SC; son, Joseph E. Poirier of Gloucester, MA; grandchild, Lani Heath; two great grandchildren: Lelia Heath and Maya Heath.
