Joseph “Joe” Aaron Ohorodnyk, 82, of Ladson, South Carolina, passed away on October 4, 2026, in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

Joe was born on August 14, 1944, in Bodnegg, Germany, to John and Anastashia Ohorodnyk. In 1949, at the age of five, Joe immigrated with his family to the United States, where they settled in Cobble, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962.

Joe proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. He later worked as a machinist in Shop 31 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 20 years before retiring in 1995.

On December 8, 1978, Joe married Catherine “Cathie” Lynch in North Charleston, South Carolina. Together, they built a life and family that remained at the center of Joe’s life.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anastashia Ohorodnyk.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathie; his sons, Joseph (Megan) and Joshua; his daughter, Alicia; his brothers, John and Andrew (Mary); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on October 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel 2180 Greenridge Rd North Charleston SC 29406.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the USO in honor of Joseph Ohorodnyk.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Family Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Joe and his family.
