Joseph Lubelsky, Jr., 86, of the Isle of Palms, SC, husband of the late Barbara Ann Buck Lubelsky, died on Sunday, July 21, 2013. The relatives and friends of Joseph Lubelsky, Jr. are invited to his Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the First United Methodist Church, No. 14, 21st Street, Isle of Palms, SC at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.

Joe was born on November 1, 1926 in Jacksonville, Florida, son of the late Joseph Lubelsky, Sr. and Kate Galloway Lubelsky. He was raised in Charleston, SC and attended Charleston schools. He was married to Barbara Buck Lubelsky of Darlington, SC. He served in the United States Coast Guard and was an active member of First United Methodist Church at Isle of Palms, SC. Joe started in the food service business at the age of eleven with his family at Kate's Tea Room on King Street in 1936. Joe and his wife Barbara opened the Target Drive-In restaurant in 1953 and then the Barbara Ann restaurant. Both were on Rivers Avenue in N. Charleston. Joe retired from the food service business in 1979. After 15 months of retirement, he went to work for 4 1/2 years as the food service director at the old and new Baker Hospitals. Joe was also involved in the real estate business and was vice-president and treasurer of the No-Jo Inc. and was president of Lubelsky Enterprise.

Joe was a SC State Constable for 22 years and was a member of the American Society for Hospital Food Service Administrators. He was also a member of the Omar Temple and was a life member of the American Legion Post 179, Elks Lodge No. 242, Etiwan Lodge No. 95, Master Mason, The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, The York Rite Bodies of SC and the Alhambra Chapter No. 60 Order of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his two grandchildren, Hope Dangerfield-Carter and her husband, Vernon, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Clyde "Clay" Moultrie Dangerfield, III and his wife, Carol, of Biltmore Lake, NC; three great grandchildren, Grace-Anne Dangerfield, Clyde "Moultrie" Dangerfield, IV, and Joseph Palmer Dangerfield; one brother, Norman Lubelsky and his wife, Vickie, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sisters, Dolly Young and her husband, Bob, of Isle of Palms, SC, Frances Hall of Hanahan, SC and Kate Rourk and her husband, Billy, of North Charleston, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his only daughter, Linda Lubelsky Dangerfield, his brother, Mark Lubelsky and his half brother, Leroy Barrineau.
