Joseph Standing Leary, 78, of Summerville, South Carolina, husband of Gail Kile Leary entered into eternal rest Friday, April 12, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, Charleston, SC at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29405.

Mr. Leary was born October 19, 1934 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Joseph Standing Leary and Clarice Frances Cammer Leary. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic, a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and a member of the Summerville Elks Lodge #2719.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Kile Leary of Summerville, SC; sister in law, Linda Labens and her husband, Richard of Hayesville, NC; brother in law, Danny Kile and his wife, Kathie; and sister in law, Cheri Kile of Hayesville, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Clarice Frances Blume.
