Joseph "Joe" Marcus Asbelle

Joseph Joe Marcus Asbelle, 67, of Ridgeville, SC, husband of Regelyn Carol Spence Asbelle died Wednesday, November 8, 2023. His funeral service will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 2:00 pm.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel. Interment will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm. 

He is survived by his wife Regelyn Asbelle of Ridgeville, SC; his three daughters: Crystal Asbelle, Amy Asbelle and Judy Asbelle; as well as his sister, Robin A Cutler of Sandia Park, New Mexico. He had six wonderful grandchildren: Joseph Muraca, Michael Alan, Gabriel Taylor, Josslynn Oliver, Victoria Bryant and Jelena Rodabaugh; and two great-grandchildren: Draven Alan and Brynlee Alan. He was the beloved son of Delores Foley who passed away in August 2011. His beloved brother Fletcher Gordon Asbelle who passed away in May 1991.

Joe retired from Dominion Energy (formerly SCE&G) in 2022 after servicing the Summerville area in the gas department for more than 30 plus years. He was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Ridgeville for six years and was the assistant chief for multiple years.  Joe was an avid fan of the NFL Raiders team, he loved watching sports, fishing and taking trips on his beloved Harley Davidson. Joe especially loved oyster roasts at the Sand Dunes Club on Sullivans Island. He will long be remembered for his fun loving personality as well as being a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend to the people who loved him best.
