Joseph Bartow Hanf, 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Elda Smith Hanf, died Thursday, February 20, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 23, 2014, in Harbor Light Baptist Church, 1300 Fort Johnson Road, at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Joe was born March 31, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Werner Hanf and Ruby Champion Hanf Hetrick. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam and a former member of the Omar Shrine Temple. Joe was a very active member of the Lowcountry Senior Center.

He is survived by his daughter, Joanne Tucker (Paul) of Johns Island, SC; his son, Jason Hanf (Laura) of Gastonia, NC; three grandchildren: Bailey O'Neal Tucker, Jenna Biering Tucker and Madison Grace Hanf. Joe was predeceased by a brother and is survived by a sister.
