Joseph Ranjit David

Petty Officer Joseph Ranjit David, USN (Ret.) Joseph Ranjit David was born on September 7, 1959 to PremKumar Singaram David and Jyothi Tharabai Caesarina David (Joy). He was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Bangalore, India. His hobbies and interests as a young person included car repair, weightlifting, and track and field. He held the Indian high school national shot-put record for many years.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 11, 2021 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Burial services will be held later in Beaufort National Cemetery.

Joseph is a veteran of the US Navy, having served his country for over two decades. He was fiercely patriotic and proud of his service. He later worked in law as a paralegal, continuing to exhibit his exemplary work ethic for another 20 years after his naval retirement.

He is survived by his son Major Samuel P. David, USMC, his daughter-in-law Jenna David, his granddaughter Chay Lynn David of Oceanside, CA. In addition, his stepchildren Kristin Threet, Jamie Howard, Ben Howard, Brooke Svenningsen, Alyssa Christian and Brianne Christian. He was a proud, loving, and selfless father. He poured his heart and soul into raising all his children and continued to be a constant presence in their lives into adulthood.Joseph loved dogs and shared his life with many beloved family pets over the years, including Tony and Taz. His hobbies included cooking steaks, watching movies, and obsessively reading Consumer Reports before any major purchase. His interests included American and Military history, and computers.

He is dearly missed by many family and friends.
