Joseph David Collins

Joseph David Collins, 86, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of Henrietta Hazel Collins entered into eternal rest Monday, December 25, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the Messiah Lutheran Church, 1106 Yeamans Hall Road at 2:00 pm. Interment at Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, December 29, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Joseph was born November 14, 1937 in Branchville, South Carolina, son of the late Claffy Wesley Collins and the late Marie Wimberly Collins.  He retired from Westvaco after 44 years and the SC Army National Guard after 34 years. 

In addition to his wife of 66 years Henrietta, he is survived by three children,  Lynn Ray of Moncks Corner, Russell David Collins (Cathy) of Anderson, SC and Gary William Collins (Joy) of Covington, GA; Special Daughter, Teresa S. Boston of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, David Ray (Darcy), Ashley Foster (Corey), Amanda Goss (Jason), Brain Collins (Bayleigh), Gary Lockard (Michelle), Betty Lockard, and Melissa Lockard; nineteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and siblings: Harry Collins, Sr. (Linda) of Branchville, SC and Vianna Snelgrove (Jerry) of Rowesville, SC.
