Joseph Martin "Marty" Ballentine

Joseph "Marty" Martin Ballentine, 40, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Monday, December 31, 2018. His Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at The Cotton Dock, Boone Hall Plantation, 1235 Long Point Road, Mt. Pleasant at 2:00 pm; friends are invited to share stories and bring pictures. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Marty was born April 26, 1978 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Stephen Glenn Ballentine and Norma Morris Ballentine Cable. He was the Co-owner of East Cooper Paint and Body Shop in Mt. Pleasant. Marty was an avid fisherman and loved woodworking.

He is survived by his mother, Norma Cable and her husband, Clay of Isle of Palms, SC; father, Stephen Ballentine and his wife, Cathy of Mt. Pleasant SC; son, Reilly S. Wilhelm of James Island, SC; sister, Sydney Ballentine Siikala Emmett and her husband, Jason of Dallas, TX; step sister, Linda Cable Schute Kepler of Roswell, GA; three step brothers, Clint Gaskins of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Marc Gaskins of James Island, SC and Len Cable of Decatur, AL; nieces and nephews, Lucas Siikala, Isabel Siikala, Sylvie Lu Siikala, Penelope Grace Emmett and Ardun Emmett; aunt and uncle, Cheryl and Ed "Big Ed" Granet of Mt. Pleasant, SC and cousin, Kristen Granet.
