Joney Lawson

Joney Lawson, Sr., 92, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Rosemary Arrington Lawson went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. His graduation Service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 in the Northside Baptist Church, 7800 Northside Drive at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park on Azalea Drive in North Charleston. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Joney was born November 3, 1929 in Cross Anchor, SC, son of the late Fletcher Lawson and Amelia Smith. He retired from the Charleston Air Force Base as an Aircraft Maintenance Man. Joney faithfully served his country for four years in the US Air Force. He loved attending church, reading his Bible and telling others about the Lord. He loved Gospel Music and spending time with Family and Friends.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert Wayne Lawson (Debbie), Summerville, SC and Joney "Sonny" Lawson, Jr. (Sharon), North Charleston, SC; two daughters, Beverly Ann Cooper (Wayne), Bonneau, SC and Trudy Lane Lawson, North Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Martha Lorraine Fields Lawson.
