Jon LeRoy Guerry

Jon LeRoy Guerry, 70, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of "Cile" Hutchison Guerry died Thursday, February 12, 2015. His memorial service will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 in the St. Andrews Church Mount Pleasant at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday, February, 15, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Jon was born January 30, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late John Everett Guerry and the late Frances Cole Guerry. He was a retired tax collector with Charleston County and retired owner of East Cooper Restaurant Supply. He was a member of St. Andrews Church where he served on the vestry and a lay reader. He also served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jon was a member of the East Cooper Outboard Motor Club, Hibernian Society, French Hugenot Society and the Old Village Poker Club.

He is survived by his wife "Cile" Hutchison Guerry; two sons, Jon L. Guerry Jr. (Patsy) and Liston Hutchison Guerry (Charlotte) Sr., all of Mount Pleasant, SC; two brothers, William Legrand Guerry (Coty) of Mount Pleasant, SC and Lewis W. Walters of Lake City, FL; two sisters, Ruth Anne Guerry Woods of Sugar Loaf Island, SC and Jan Guerry Moore of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Lila Frances Guerry and Liston Hutchison Guerry, Jr. and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Church, 440 Whilden Street, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 or a charity of ones choice.
