Johnny Lou Weeks Emory, 81, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Ollie Robert Emory, Ph.D., entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Her Requiem Mass will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 in The Church of the Holy Communion, 218 Ashley Avenue at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday in J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Downtown Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Johnny Lou was born February 23, 1940 in Mullins, South Carolina, daughter of Percy Leonard Weeks and Mary Catherine Hayes Weeks. She received her Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma. As a long time active member of Charleston's Church of the Holy Communion, her other passions included being a classical pianist, an avid reader, her pets and family as well as the many students whom she influenced over her 45-plus years as an educator, most recently as a librarian at Bishop England High School.

Johnny Lou is survived by her daughter, Catherine D. Emory of Charleston, SC; son, Robert Leonard Emory (Perry Sclafani) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister, Mary Ann Weeks Glantz (David) of Carlisle, PA; and nieces, Mary Elizabeth Glantz (Michelle Schohn) and Susan Ann Glantz Mangan.
