Johnnie Thomas McMasters

Johnnie Thomas McMasters, 82, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Clayton McMasters, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 4, 2014. His graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Riverview Memorial Park at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL.

Johnnie was born January 22, 1932 in Walters, Oklahoma, son of Jesse K. McMasters and Frances Riney K. McMasters. He was a veteran of Vietnam and retired from the United States Air Force. Following retirement, Johnnie served as a sheet metal mechanic with the Charleston Naval Shipyard, Shop #17. He was a member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years; his daughter, Kelly Viegel (Carl) of Goose Creek, SC; two sons: Adam Thomas McMasters of North Charleston, SC and John Travis McMasters of Summerville, SC; two grandchildren: Wyatt Viegel of Goose Creek, SC, and Heather Groom (Nathan) of St. Marys, GA; two sisters: Jerlene Gillispie of Duncan, OK and Gracalee John of Duncan, OK; and his brother, Lowell McMasters (Minnie) of Duncan, OK. He was preceded in death by his sister, Molly Luttrell.
