Johnathan David Jenkins

Johnathan David Jenkins, 40, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Gretchen Anne Meyer, M.D., died Saturday, February 23, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel one hour prior to the service.

Johnathan was born on December 7, 1972 in New Orleans, LA, son of Charles John Jenkins and Peggy Ann McKellar Jenkins. He attended the University of Houston, and worked as an architectural draftsman. He had a love/hate relationship with golf, and was a wonderful and adoring stepfather, husband, brother and son.

He is survived by his wife Gretchen and step-daughter, Kaelyn of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his father, Charles J. Jenkins and wife Jan Jenkins of Houston, TX; his mother, Peggy Ann Jenkins and partner Lisa Rhea of Houston, TX; his brother, Chuck Jenkins and wife, Laura of Houston, TX; his sisters, Jannie Jenkins Johnson and husband Tex McDaniel of Houston, TX, and Jennifer Thrasher and husband Michael Thrasher of Tyler, TX; his nephews Jason Johnson and Will Thrasher; his nieces Sarah Thrasher and Taylor Jenkins; and his precious Great Danes, Duke and Duchess.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406 or a charity of one's choice.
