John Elliott Winn

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Sunday, May 27, 2012, Battalion Chief John Elliott Winn, Sr., husband of Debra "Debbie" Frazier Winn of Hollywood, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Winn, Sr. are invited to attend his funeral services at Charleston Baptist Church Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, this Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment services will be conducted later.

Born April 2, 1953 in Fairfax, SC, John was a son of Robert Lee Winn and Alternease Walker Winn. Chief Winn was a Battalion Chief with the City of Charleston Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife Debbie Winn of Hollywood; three daughters, Johanna Hodge of Augusta, GA, Alice Marsh of Columbia, SC, Carmen Winn of Cottageville, SC; a son, John E. "JJ" Winn, Jr. of Charleston; four brothers, Robert Winn, Jr. and Terry Winn both of Moncks Corner, SC, Jerry Winn of Hollywood and O'Neal Winn of Hampton, SC. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Wesley Winn, Brantley Winn and Daniel Justice.

Memorial donations may be made to the South Carolina Firefighters' Association, Mesothelioma Fund, P.O. Box 211725, Columbia, SC 29210.
