John William Ward, Jr., 69, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the graveside, Christ Church Cemetery, 2304 Highway 17 N, Mt. Pleasant, at 10:30 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
John was born March 21, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late John William Ward, M.D. and Sallie DuPre' Royall Ward. He graduated from Moultrie High School and retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard as an electrician. He attended Porter Military Academy and Southern Technical Institute, and owned and operated Jackpottery Ceramic Studio. He was a member of St. Andrews Church, Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by his sister, Sallie W. Moore and her husband, Gerald D. Moore, Jr., of Bluffton, SC; two nephews; Andrew D. Moore, M.D. of Madison, WI and Christopher W. Moore of Fort Bragg, CA.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
