John Bonneau Vaden, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Doris Hattaway Vaden met his heavenly Father on Friday, June 30, 2017. He will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
John was born August 12, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late John B. Vaden, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Martin Vaden. As a young adult, John served in the National Guard. He also worked many years at WT Smith Co, Langston Motors and Baker Acura Company as the Parts Manager. John loved to read, work in his yard, and feed the squirrels. Chico, the squirrel, will surely miss John feeding him pecans. He was a very devoted and loving husband who cared for his ailing wife the last 10 years of her life.
John is survived by his only daughter, Joan Vaden Younglund and her husband, Kevin of Lake Wylie, SC; daughter-in-law, Holly Dawson; granddaughters, Megan Elizabeth Dawson and Amanda Younglund; grandsons, Connor Younglund, Brandon Cumbee Dawson and his wife, Jessica; great-grandson, Conrad Dawson; niece, Carolyn Vaden Murray and her husband, Paul; and nephew, Bill Vaden.
In addition to his wife, Doris, he was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, William Vaden; brother, Charles Vaden; and son, Terry M. Cumbee.
His graveside service will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd., at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
