John William Thomas, Jr.

John William Thomas, Jr., 93, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Elva Stevens Thomas entered into eternal rest Monday, October 13, 2025. Services will be held in Virginia at a later date.

John was born September 27, 1932 in Boulder, Colorado, son of the late John William Thomas and the late Dorothy Jean Larry Thomas. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Colorado and an MBA degree from the University of Hartford. John was a US Army Veteran and retired from Westinghouse after a 34-year career in defense sales and marketing. His family will always remember him as a loving and kind husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elva Thomas of Mount Pleasant, SC; two sons, Timothy Paul Thomas, John Andrew Thomas; two daughters, Karen Thomas Paul, Kathleen Ann Riley (Kevin); four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dr. Betty Jean Thomas.
