John William Tanner

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of February 12, 2011, John William Tanner, Jr., widower of Gertrude Ricker Tanner.  Residence, North Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment, Bethany Cemetery.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Monday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Tanner was born April 18, 1921 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late John William Tanner and the late Annie Wolfe Tanner.  He was a retired house painter for The Beach Company and a World War II Army veteran. 

He is survived by a daughter, Myra T. Maull and husband, Rick, of Charleston; two grandchildren, Rick Maull, Jr. and wife, Christina and Liane M. Ziel and husband, Brandon; and two great-grandchildren, English H. Maull and Liza Ziel
