John Abner Swiney

John Abner Swiney, Jr., 68, of Summerville, SC, died Friday, February 26, 2016. His memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 7:30 pm. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
John was born May 9, 1947 in Loudon, TN, son of the late John A. Swiney, Sr. and the late Lois Louise Taylor Swiney. He was an avid hunter, hard worker, loved his family and his dog Panda. He was very patriotic and generous to all. John was a 29 year veteran of the US Army Infantry, including two tours in Vietnam along with other deployments.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kyong Cha Swiney of Summerville, SC; three sons: Brian J. (Lisa) Swiney of Moncks Corner, SC, Mark Swiney (Neil Perry) of Oakland, CA and Anthony (Jennifer) Swiney of Tustin, CA; three grandchildren: Jordan Bryce Swiney, Kailey Elizabeth Swiney and Finn Oliver Swiney; four sisters: Janice (James) Smith of Pelion, SC, Jacqueline Swiney of Purdy, MO, Joyce Swiney of Pelion, SC and Phyllis Magill of Ainsworth, NE. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judi Frazier.
