John Joseph Scrughan, 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Vivian Sally Scrughan entered into eternal rest Monday, October 21, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 4, 2024 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 11:30 am. Interment, to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery .

John was born May 17, 1956 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Henry Victor Scrughan, Sr. and Jacqueline Farrell Scrughan. He was a Longshoreman Checker, member of Local 1771. A true southern gentleman he loved hanging out by the pool, the beach and enjoyed listening to music. 

He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Farrell Scrughan; son, John Joseph (Wendi) Scrughan, II; daughter, Cimberly Danielle (Kinsey) Gibson; grandchildren: Ella Gibson, Quinn Gibson, Jacob Kelly, Noah Scrughan, John Scrughan; great grandchild, Willow Kelly; sister, Shellie Watts; Aunt, Rosemary Giordano; five cousins; and many nieces, nephews.

John was predeceased by his late wife, Vivian; father, Henry; brother, Victor; and sister, Vickie.
