John Roger Rowe

John Roger Rowe, MD, 72, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 302 Hibben Street at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Roger was born May 17, 1941 in Walterboro, South Carolina, son of the late John McCuen Rowe and Jessie Hiott Rowe. As a long-time physician in Mt. Pleasant, he co-founded East Cooper Family Practice. Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the VFW. Over his career, he was affiliated with MUSC, East Cooper Regional Medical Center, and Roper Hospital. Roger was a member of various medical organizations and a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Abercrombie and her husband, Jim of Mount Pleasant, SC; his three sons, Dr. John Roger Rowe, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Mount Pleasant, SC, John Jordan Rowe of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Thomas Chatham Rowe and his wife, Caroline of Mount Pleasant, SC; his two brothers, Thomas Marion Rowe and Charles Kenwood Rowe both of Walterboro, SC; and his grandchildren, Jack, John, Grier, Janie, and Sam.
