John Robert Williams, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 75. A cherished resident of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, John was the devoted husband of Cheryl Haller Williams, to whom he had been married for 52 years.

Born on May 23, 1950, John was the son of the late Omer E. Williams and the late Giselle Hostettler Williams. Throughout his life, John became known for his compassionate heart, unwavering loyalty to his family, and the kindness that touched so many who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Professionally, John was a dedicated Financial Services Representative, a role in which he exemplified integrity and a commitment to helping others navigate their financial futures. Beyond his career, he was a man of many passions and talents. John found great joy in fishing, sports, cooking, and exploring a variety of culinary delights as a true foodie. His love for gardening, the beach, and hiking in the mountains reflected his deep appreciation for nature, a passion that brought him a lot of joy.

John deeply loved his country and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Above all else, his greatest passion was his love for Jesus Christ and sharing the Gospel message of Jesus with everyone he encountered. He had a heart for missions and traveled on several mission trips to Cuba, where he ministered and shared the love of Christ with others. John was a loyal and devoted husband and father, who cherished spending time with those he loved most.

John’s warm and engaging personality was marked by a wonderful sense of humor and a genuine love of conversation. He had a heart for the less fortunate, demonstrating kindness and empathy throughout his life. Fluent in French and an avid traveler, John embraced cultural experiences with enthusiasm and openness. He cherished the many years he and his family spent living and traveling abroad, experiences that brought immense joy to his life and created lasting memories for those he loved.
