John Wayne Ray

John Wayne Ray, 69, of Moncks Corner, SC entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 19, 2016. His funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Messiah Lutheran Church, 1106 Yeamans Hall Road at 2:00 pm. The interment will follow with military honors at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends Friday in Messiah Lutheran Church from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.

John was born January 16, 1947 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Charles Workman Ray and Nannie Lucille Branham Ray. John was a US Air Force veteran and retired from Caterpiller Reman Manufacturing Company. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lynn Collins Ray of Moncks Corner, SC; son, David Wayne Ray (Darcy) of Charleston, SC; three daughters: Amanda Lynn Goss (Jason) of Moncks Corner, SC, Lisa Ray Henrickson (Brian) of Duluth, MN, Jodi Ray Hartling (Jim) of Duluth, MN; sister, Barbara Ann Sinclair (Bill) of Loganville, GA; three grandchildren: Charles Adam Goss, Emogene Marie Goss, Blaize Skye Shrake. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Samuel C. Ray and Howard "Popeye" Ray; his sister, Carolyn Lucille Metzger; and a longtime friend, Gregory Alan Helm.
